Best Mountain Restaurants in Meribel

Le Monchu
With a magnificent panorama from the terrace, Le Monchu is the perfect spot to enjoy a long lunch. Situated just above Rong Point, Le Monchu has several options from Le Bistro serving Savoyard specialities to a snack bar (great for teens and children) and a stunning outdoor lounge area with sofas, beds and ottomans, perfect for apres.

Clos Bernard
Nestled in the forest close to the Altiport, this Meribel restaurant can be reached by skis, on foot or by horse and carriage. With a terrace for sunny lunches and a cosy dining room when the weather is bad, Clos Bernard has all bases covered. Not to be missed are the mouth-watering Angus steaks cooked on an open fire. Open every day for lunch, Close Bernard is also open every Wednesday evening during winter for a special Savoyard night featuring cheese fondue, mulled wine and Savoyard songs.

L'Adray Telebar
Located at the beginning of the Adret chairlift just above Meribel centre, this family-run restaurant is perfect for celebrating a special occasion. Enjoy delicious dishes including grilled lamb chops, pork fillet with baked apples and porto wine cream sauce or duck breast with roasted pears while relaxing on the sunny south-facing terrace. Downstairs is Cookie’s Club, a snack bar serving soups, salads, burgers and paninis.

L'Atelier
Recently renovated, this Meribel restaurant on the slopes has transformed from a carpentry workshop into a small, traditional restaurant in Le Raffort. Accommodating 25 diners, L’Atelier specialises in classic French cuisine and grilled meats. Ski-in/ski-out, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

Top Mountain Chalets in Meribel

  1. Chalet Domaine de l'Orme - brand new chalet with an incredible spa, located in a tranquil spot. It is a five-minute drive to the centre of the resort.
  2. Chalet Alya - newly renovated ski-in/ski-out chalet at the foot of La Gélinote piste. The chalet is a 10-minute walk from La Galette and La Fromagerie restaurants.

En'K Restaurant
This hidden gem tucked away behind the main street of Les Allues, serves delicious family-style cooking in a homely atmosphere. Popular with locals and great value for money, En’K is open year-round and has a varied menu. The menu is also available as takeaway - perfect for those renting self-catered chalets or apartments who want a night off from cooking.

Pizzeria L'Igloo
Close to the town centre, this is one of the best restaurants in Meribel for reasonably priced pizzas, burgers, pastas, salads and tapas.

Aux Petits Oignons
This popular eating spot just above the town centre towards the Altiport is open each day for lunch and dinner. It has a welcoming atmosphere with an open fire, a varied menu and a carefully selected wine list.

Le 80

Located within La Chaudanne Hotel, Le 80 serves stylish gourmet French dishes in a lively ambience. Adorned in colourful hot air balloons, the decor pays tribute to some of the great explorers of the last century. Dine to the sounds of lounge music from 7pm and pop rock from 9pm.

La Fromagerie
Arguably the best fondue in Meribel, cheese eaters won’t want to miss out on a trip to La Fromagerie. Take your pick from raclette and tartiflette, charcuterie, salads and of course the ultimate cheese fondue.

BeefBar
Based at the newly opened Coucou hotel, BeefBar has been receiving plaudits all season. Open for lunch and dinner, the menu includes meats matured and prepared to perfection, including Black Angus from Argentina, Australian Wagyu and Japanese Kobe.

Tsaretta Spice
For something more daring, Tsaretta Spice is the place to go for incredible Indian cuisine. Located in Altitude 1600 just above the main town, this ‘go to’ restaurant brings you a sensational menu created by renowned chef, Yousuf Mohammed. Now in its third year, Tsaretta Spice combines contemporary dishes with excellent service.

La Galette
Taste Savoyard specialities, pizzas and galettes at this central Meribel restaurant. Popular with locals, La Galette has plenty of atmosphere and is a good option if you're looking for a budget-friendly tasty meal.

L'Ekrin
Holder of Meribel’s sole Michelin star, L’Ekrin is a sophisticated restaurant headed up by chef Laurent Azoulay. Combining inventive cuisine with a fantastic wine menu, this sensational restaurant provides a totally unique experience. Dishes to try include broiled hand-gathered scallops in a chestnut cream with black truffles, local venison fillet and cocoa sorbet infused with hay.

Le Cepe
Falling just short of a Michelin star, Le Cepe is known for its fantastic seafood and mushroom specialities, in particular the mushroom cappuccino. Popular with locals, Catherine and Alain Plouzané provide a warm welcome in elegant surroundings.

La Coursive des Alpes
Located in what was the resort's cinema, this mezzanine restaurant offers modern and tasty cuisine in a charming setting. Dishes feature plenty of local cheeses, truffles and seasonal ingredients.


Best Après-Ski in Meribel

Folie Douce
Hugely popular, the Folie Douce is the starting point for all things apres. Located just below the mid-station of the Saulire Express, the real action kicks off at 3 pm and continues until 5 pm when people head off down the mountain. Expect loud music, champagne, dancing on tables and general revelry as well as a series of circus acts and dancers.

The Ronnie
The fun continues at Le Rond Point known by locals at the Ronnie, where live music rocks daily from 5pm through to 7pm. Situated on the Doron piste leading down to La Chaudanne, the Ronnie has a huge outdoor terrace with great views of the slopes. From here you can either ski back down to the centre or take a bus - depending on how many toffee vodkas you’ve had!

Jacks Bar
Located at the foot of the piste, Jacks is great for apres with live music from 5pm Monday to Friday. Relax on the terrace with a beer and a slice of pizza whilst enjoying the tunes.

With live music, themed parties and big name DJs, O’Sullivans (Sully’s) is the place to head for late-night raving. Five minutes walk from the heart of Meribel, Sully’s is a quintessential part of Meribel’s nightlife open from 11pm until late every day of the week.
