About St-Martin-de-Belleville

Located within France’s renowned Trois Vallees ski area, St-Martin-de-Belleville is an authentic mountain village home with less than 3,000 residents. This hidden gem is perfect for serious skiers wanting to escape the madness of resorts like Courchevel and Val Thorens yet still have access to incredible skiing.

Unlike its purpose-built neighbours, St-Martin-de-Belleville is a quaint collection of rustic timber and stone chalets with cobbled streets and 16th-century church. There are a few good restaurants, including the three-Michelin-star restaurant, La Bouitte, in the neighbouring hamlet of St Marcel.

However, bars are few and far between, so if it’s buzzing nightlife you are after then St Martin is not for you. This is a place to experience a true Savoyard style of living with local farmers markets and a wonderful sense of community.

Where is Chalet Floralie located?

Built in 1996, Chalet Floralie is located just a stone’s throw from the lift. The ski hire shop is right next door to the chalet and once you’ve picked up your skis you only have to walk across the road, through an archway and you’re on the snow front where you can pick up your lift pass and jump on the gondola to whisk you straight up the mountain.

Despite not being the highest resort in the Trois Vallees, the St Martin valley is, in fact, the most reliable when it comes to snow. Even if conditions are poor, you only have to drive 10 minutes up the valley to Les Menuires or a little further to Val Thorens where snow is practically guaranteed. The run back down to St Martin, known as Jerusalem, is many people’s favourite run in the whole of the Trois Vallees.

Fine dining at Chalet Floralie

One of the main highlights at Chalet Floralie is the fantastic service and friendly staff. The chalet manager Cat has worked at the property for 11 seasons so is a fountain of knowledge on the chalet and resort.

This season, award-winning chef Chris Denney has taken the culinary reins and guests are in for a real treat. Described by restaurant critic Giles Coren as “the kind of chef who comes along only once or twice in a decade”, Denney’s passion for ingredients and flavours shines through in his dishes.

Each night guests are served drinks and canapes followed by a series of innovative dishes from octopus with grape mustard and tahini to his famous black beer cake. The result is an explosion on your palate and each course is a new taste sensation. Served daily, breakfast consists of the usual fruit salad, cereals, pastries as well as a cooked option of anything from smoked salmon to bacon and eggs. You certainly won’t go hungry at this chalet.

Chalet Floralie is ideal for families and friends looking to spend quality time together whilst having access to amazing skiing. There are still a few weeks remaining towards the end of the season so do get in touch with the team to book before it’s too late.
