European Snowsport - best all-rounder

Perfect for young children is ES Penguins, providing group lessons for 3 to 5 year olds in groups of just four. All children are tracked using Flaik real-time GPS system making it one of the leading ski schools in terms of safety.
ES also offers private ski and snowboard lessons, tuition in off-piste skiing and even telemarking should you wish to try something a little different.
Matterhorn Diamonds - best for private lessons
Founded in 2011, Matterhorn Diamonds have a small team of highly-qualified ski instructors who have at least five years experience within the Zermatt ski area. Matterhorn Diamonds believe that one-to-one lessons are the best way to learn so only offer private lessons. Instruction is available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Luxembourgish, Czech and Portuguese.
Special off-piste lessons are offered, with instructors improving your technique so you can enjoy the Swiss powder to the full. Another fantastic feature from Matterhorn Diamonds is their Experience Days, giving you the chance to experience Zermatt in a different way, whether that be the Sunrise Ski Touring Taster, Italian Adventure or Sunset Sledging.
Stoked Snowsports School - best for beginners
Since 1994, Stoked Snowsports School has been leading the way in ski tuition in Zermatt with a highly experienced team of multi-lingual instructors, many returning season after season. Choose from full day private lessons or half-day private lessons in the morning and afternoon, lasting either 2.5 or 3 hours - whatever you feel your stamina allows for!
Kids group full or half-day lessons are offered from Monday to Friday, with the legendary Stoked Kids Club ski race taking place every Thursday, followed by the prize giving and a visit from Wolli on the Friday. There’s also a Teens Club and last year a special ‘Shredders and Senders’ programme was introduced for 14 to 18 year olds, combining snowboarding and skiing.
There are a number of “Stoked Specials” including The Beginner Special open to total beginners which includes three half day private ski lessons for a special price, the Freestyle Special and the Off-Piste Special.
Summit Ski School - best for teens
Created in 2004, Summit Ski School is a British school with an experienced team of instructors who provide both group and private tuition in skiing and snowboarding, as well as private guiding. Group lessons for adults run Sunday to Friday and have a maximum of four people per group. There is a Kids Club for those aged six and upwards with a maximum of six children per group. Those aged 12 to 17 can join a Slopestyle Group where the emphasis is on having fun and learning the latest techniques and tricks. There are two levels of Slopestyle Groups - Red and Black - which correspond to the colour of runs that the teens can already ski with confidence.
Summit teaches off-piste lessons on non-glacial terrain, but for ski touring or off-piste glacial skiing you will need to book a UIAGM mountain guide from the Alpine Centre. For disabled skiers, Summit has an adaptive skiing programme led by Sarah Wilcock who has been involved with adaptive skiing for 14 years, working closely with the charity Disability Snowsports UK for a number of years.
