Distinctive architecture above Morzine

Set into the hillside above Morzine, ZEMS Lodge immediately stands out for its unusual curved form. The shape is reminiscent of a ship’s bow, an influence continued inside through blue tones and a porthole-style window overlooking the Super Morzine gondola. Local designers Shep & Kyles were responsible for the interiors, which feature colourful fabrics, Bocci lighting and carefully selected contemporary finishes.

The chalet extends across five floors, connected by an elevator. Guests enter on the ground floor, where there is a spacious ski room with heated boot warmers. The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room is on the third floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing south-facing views across the village and surrounding slopes.

A suspended wood-burning fireplace divides the sitting and dining areas, while doors lead onto a balcony with hanging swings.

Entertainment is centred around the top-floor bar, where guests will find a pool table, television snug and a collection of musical instruments, including a Fender Telecaster, acoustic guitar and percussion. There is also a separate cinema room with a projector, surround sound, Apple TV and Chromecast.

ZEMS Lodge sleeps eight adults and six children. The four main bedrooms include three rooms that can be configured as doubles or twins and one fixed king-size double. The master bedroom has terrace access, a freestanding nickel bath and an en-suite shower room. Two triple bunk rooms share a separate shower room.

Outside, the large tiled swim spa is more generous than a conventional hot tub and heated for winter use. The adjoining glass-fronted sauna shares the same views across Morzine, while a dedicated treatment room provides space for massages arranged during the stay.

Good to Know

Space & Layout:

Despite its 500 m² footprint, the chalet is divided into several smaller living and entertainment spaces, preventing it from feeling overwhelming for smaller groups.
The cinema room has limited seating, making it better suited to children or a smaller group than all guests at once.

Bedroom four has a fixed king-size bed but is fairly compact, making it more comfortable for single occupancy than for a couple.
The master suite’s freestanding bath is positioned within the bedroom rather than in a separate bathroom.

ZEMS Lodge is located in a quiet spot with sweeping views across the valley yet it is just a short stroll to the Super Morzine lift and the centre of town.
